No, not yet. Hard Rock Bet holds no licence with any South African provincial gambling board, and no launch has been announced as of July 2026.
Hard Rock Bet, the online sportsbook run by Hard Rock Digital, is live in nine US states (Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Tennessee, and Virginia) and recently picked up an iGaming licence in Ontario, Canada, in May 2026. Outside North America, we found no active licence and no public application in progress.
Hard Rock International, the parent brand, has a presence in more than 68 countries through hotels, cafes, and casinos. That's a different thing entirely from Hard Rock Bet, the specific online sportsbook. A Hard Rock hotel opening in Cape Town, if that ever happened, wouldn't mean a licensed sportsbook comes with it.
If Hard Rock Bet picks up a real provincial licence, we update this page the same day, with the actual licence details. Not before.
We track this same pre-launch pattern in other markets too — see our coverage of Hard Rock Bet's expected move into Mexico, one of the clearest signals we're watching right now.
In the meantime, these two operators hold real provincial licences today:
